Of Love and Life..: Back from Middle Earth..

That was it?
One week ago i was snowboarding!!! =(
Sigh, all gone too fast.
All i can say is i had a BLAST!! Albeit a tad bit tired and battered...
It was freezing cold in NZ!!! The thing i hate most, sitting on cold toilet bowls... and SHOWERING! Gosh...
Quick Summary of the trip...

Day 1 - Collected Campervan and had a scenic drive along Arthur's pass. Very beautiful place! Attempted climbing up to Devil's Punchbowl but it was getting dark at 5pm and we had to head back. headed on to campsite at Lake Lanthe to call it a day. Cooked our own dinner and that was our 1st anni meal =P

Day 2 - Drove on to Franz Joseph Glacier. Wanted to do a glacier hike but it was all fully booked, so we splurged and went on a heli-hike instead ($380 per person!!!!) It was cool walkin on ice! =)
Headed to Wanaka.

Day 3 - Drove up to Cardrona to snowboard! Got like HUGE ugly bruises from the numerous falls and i was DEAD tired!! but it was fun! =) Headed to Nandos to treat ourselves to a gd dinner and then to Te Anau for the night.

Day 4 - Rode on to Milford Sound for scenic cruise. Something relaxing after 2 days of extreme activities. Went on to Queenstown Top 10 Campervan Park for some warmth...

Day 5 - Shotover river was frozen, so we cant do white water rafting. Too cloudy over the mountains, so we cant do paragliding. Had to settle for shotover jet instead. And we ended up shopping in queenstown and invested in ski wear (which were real lifesavers) =) Drove on to Mt Cook and it was -10 deg!!!

Day 6 - 7 hours hike at Mt Cook and it was actually a pretty frightening experience coz we got a little lost on our way back and had to take a long way out, which really took a toll on us. Honestly, i was way too tired and frustrated having to trudge through knee deep snow. Cant imagine how glad we were when we stepped foot on the paved roads again. A super sinful dinner of Fisherman basket and tonnes of fries, all of which i gulfed down. DAMN hungry.

Day 7 - Drove to Mt Hutt from Methven. Roads were icy, so we had to put on snow chains. Skiied all day and it was fun!! Was a tad bit sad when we left as it was our last night in NZ ..
Visited Christchurch town a little and bought some snacks before we checked into the last holiday park and cooked our lasy day meal. Sigh. Had to pack our luggages with a heavy heart..
Day 8 - Returned our campervan and voila! back in Singapore!

Burned a big hole in our pockets already! hahaha =) Now its time to settle down to prepare myself for some serious mugging and working... Some pics here... somehow the order is reversed....???
